Professional
After graduation, I started out in Retail, part time, as I was going thru collage. On my return from Europe, I moved up to Management and part time at Uvic. Retail began with the Dylex group, then Eddie Bauer, and ended with Home Depot, spanning 17 years. The highlights where with Eddie Bauer, not only did I visit Napa Valley and Tuscon, as incentive for being Top Sales in the chain, I also had the privilege of opening up the first two Eddie Bauer's in Germany. The low point in my retail career came with  my last employer, working a 18 hour shift and realizing that I would never bleed enough orange for Home Depot. That was the catalyst for my career change to self employment in this, my new field. My choice to become a Mortgage Broker, actually began 4 years earlier when I became a Mortgage Depot client, and was a huge fan from the onset.
Educational Background
I graduated from Belmont High, in 1982, and started my post secondary education at Camosun Collage in the Criminology field. After 2 years I took a year off, and back packed around Europe. In 1985 I returned to my education path, but this time at the University of Victoria, and worked toward a degree in Psychology. I completed my degree in 1992, working full time in Retail Management for the majority of my university time. The good news at the end, was no Student Loans, but I won't recommend it for the faint of heart. Throughout my career in retail management, I was continually upgrading, and if not learning then teaching.

January of 2002, I started my Mortgage Broker accreditation thru UBC, I blitzed the coarse in 3 months and was working in my new field in May of 2002. Mortgage Brokers, like Realtors need to obtain educational credits for their designation , ours being AMP( A credited Mortgage Professional), so yearly we are on coarse several times. I will be passing on interesting information, to you folks via my Blog.
Personal
My mother and I immigrated to Victoria from Berlin Germany in 1969, I was 6 at the time, and didn't speak any english. But picked up the language quickly by first grade. I grew up in the West Shore area, and graduated from Belmont in 1982. The traveled, worked on my degree and nested here in Victoria. I married in 1988, and we bought our first home together in 1990. My interests include horse back riding, which I started at age 30, and restarted in 2004 when we moved to Metchosin. I have always been keen on personal health and fitness, and remember the times fondly when my husband Larry and I would be up at the crack of dawn for early morning pre work work outs. The 4:45 am wake ups, thank fully ended in 2008 when he retired. Now I am at Royal Roads on my lunch hours, plugging away. I am a avid reader of both Sci-fi Fantasy and Mysteries, and think our best bang for the buck is our local libraries, and CBC radio1. Most weekends, you will find me in a book, in the garden, or riding with Phoenix.
